Trip Options

Fishing the upper Potomac is an experience that will delight and challenge any fisherman. We offer float trips from 1 day to 1 week, and can organize a trip to fulfill any reasonable need. We can also arrange 1, 2, and 3 day combination floating/wading excursions at your request.

The south branch is available from Romney, WV, to our base camp, the north branch from Barnum, WV, and the mainstem from base camp to Little Orleans, MD. In other words, many beautiful miles of great fishing. The upper Potomac can be difficult to fish, as snags and surprising currents abound, and it is always rewarding in response to your skills and efforts. You will never forget having fished here.

Every guided fishing trip that we offer is available for 1 to 4 persons. Day trips include snacks, lunch, unlimited water, customized kayaks, gear, transportation to and from the river, personal flotation devices, and photos. Overnight trips also include breakfast and dinner on each day that we’re away, as well as tents and sleeping pads. Our kayaks are lightweight and very maneuverable, ranging in length from 9 to 11 ½ feet, and are customized with umbrellas and Thermarest seats. They are also rigged to handle as many as 4 fishing rods. We put you where the fish are, and prepare you to tackle them.

GUIDED FISHING TRIPS

1 adult- $150.00 per day
2 adults- $125.00 per day per person
3 to 4 adults $100.00 pdpp

While children are welcome, the skill and fitness levels required for a successful outing may preclude them from truly enjoying genuine fishing success. And the kids might distract you from enjoying yours. If you decide to bring junior, we’ll set him or her up for $75.00 a day, and will still assure you of a day that he or she will never forget.

GUIDED FLOAT TRIPS; NO FISHING

These trips are priced per boat, not per person, and may include up to 12 people, children included.
Canoe and kayak rentals- $65.00 each per day, plus $30.00 transportation to and from the river, plus $100.00 for your guide, and you bring your own provisions.

UNGUIDED FLOAT TRIPS; DAY TRIPS ONLY

Canoe and kayak rentals- $65.00 each per day, plus $30.00 transportation to and from the river, and you bring your own provisions.

For reference purposes, a 1 day float may take anywhere from 5 to 8 hours, sometimes longer or shorter depending on variables such as river height, how fast you paddle, wind speed and direction, etc.
